Dang Feng???

I have been researching buying a tractor
as you may know most paths have lead me to the jinmas and its many forms
I visited the tractor lofts web site and saw a Dang Feng tractor
is this the same tractor by a diffrent name?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

No I do not believe it is the same as a Jinma. While I dont know anything about them, According to Chinese Tractor 101: or

it is one of the better of the chinese tractors.
It basically says Hercules, Allied, Task Master, DongFeng,Avenger, and Lenar are the best of he chinese tractor companies. Basically because these companies have designed tractors exclusively for North America, work only with exclusive agents, and are providing client support.

It doesn't speak very highly of Jinma but a lot of people on this board seem happy with theirs (I guess at least for the money).

I have seen the Dong Feng 354's, and they seem like a very decent tractor. All else being equal, but never is, I might choose a DF354 over a JM354.

One thing to check on, EFC (Buck) posted recently about some issue with importing these. See the DF-Bulldog thread. This may have a bearing in choosing this brand.

Point, I have one of the DF tractors under the TaskMaster name. Mazama Products has a lot of information on the DF (www.tm-tractors.com). I find it a really solidly built tractor and performs excellently. Only have 7 hours on it but... FYI, got the BH and FEL. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That site speaks highly of the tractors that have exclusive representation...mostly by By Mazama. The fact is the Taskmaster name has been on many of the Chinese makes over the last several years, including Yancheng tractor factory (JINMA).

The Dong Feng or DF is a good tractor, although it seems to command a higher price. The reason most people, probably all people, buy a Chinese tractor is the price. I personally feel if the price gets within 20% of a S. Korean tractor like KIOTI or FARMTRAC (Long), which have 20-32 hP tractors that can be had in the $ 9,000- $ 12,000 price range (without loader), or Century or Branson, the buyer really needs to take a hard look.

Now at 30 to 50% less, the Chinese offer a very viable option IMHO. In fact we sell far more Farm Pro and KAMA tractors than our other higher price, albeit higher quality brands.
We do our best to be sure our customer understands the differences.

Dong Feng is a China tractor but not a Jinma.
They(Dong Feng as well as Jinma, Kama) make a really nice unit. Real strong units. I own a Jinma 224 (thats a 22 HP 4WD) and it has plenty of power for me. These are real heavy units and not small like some would think. Glenn from Coastal tractor/Tractorloft is a good guy to do business with. I got my 224 from him and am very happy.

That website worked but because it's a company that sells those brands I don't put much stock in their claims. That's like Ford saying Chevy is no good or vice versa.
