I'm looking at a Danuser 18p chipper for sale. It's been stored inside forever, and is in surprisingly good condition for it's age. It definitely needs new knives on it, but otherwise it seemed to run just fine.
I've tried searching online for a manual, or any other info, and haven't been able to find anything at all (presumably due to it's age). I sent an email to Danuser, but they don't make chippers anymore at all, and I've not yet received a response from them. I know it's a longshot, but any chance anyone on these forums might have a copy of the manual for this chipper?
I'm going back to look at it again tomorrow, with some tools this time, so I can check the knives. I'm hoping they can just be flipped, or that there's enough left to sharpen. I can actually get a replacement set, but they are not cheap at all. If I end up buying it, maybe I'll hit you up for sharpening advice (or pay you to sharpen them for me).
Update - I bought the chipper. I heard back from Danuser directly, and they emailed me a copy of the manual. They can even still sell me knives. Turns out the knives in it were chewed up pretty bad....but the other side was still brand new, so I just flipped em. I'll likely order a set sometime anyway, since I imagine they'll only get harder to find as time goes by.

Finally got a chance to run the chipper some today. It runs great! My Kioti ck3510 has more than enough power, I was running some 2 1/2 - 3" limbs through it, and the tractor never even fluttered on rpm's. If I had to find a complaint....I wish the chip size was a little bigger. When I flipped the knives, I opened the gap up to the maximum it says in the manual (.090), and it's better than it was, but they're still small chips.
Here's a picture....amazing condition for being 20yrs old. I paid 550, plus 22 bucks to rebuild the U joint on the pto shaft that was shot. And a couple hours to flip the knives around.
