Breaking in the new tractor today we got 4 hours on it.

My first thought was that I was not impressed. As the speed was nothing like a PTO 3pt unit. I could not get a clean hole.
So after the first hole I tried to do it different.
I would run the hole a little bit deeper, turn off the auger, pull it out, back up and clean off by reversing.

It just took a little change in my methods and the holes came out clean in the end.

More speed would be nice but the ability to have down pressure makes up for it.

Do your EP6 PHD hydraulic lines have in line restrictors in them? I have them in line for my front mount hydraulic thumb so it doesn't open or close too fast. If so, you could change the orifice size or remove them to get a faster speed on the auger.

There are down pressure kits for 3pt PHD, PTO and hydraulic driven. I hope that was not the only reason that you went with what you have.

I feel as if I have more control with this vs the 3pt, I have sank a few that way and like the bucket mount now that I'm using it.
Plus its a lot easier to hook up.

I have a Danuser 1025 and while not fast, it is plenty enough to dig a hole. You don't need speed other than you need some to clear the auger after pulling it out of the hole. There is no way I would go back to a 3point, for safety and control reasons.

Nobody mentioned the reversing function of the hydraulic auger, yet. I think that and the down force were the major selling points for me when I bought my Belltec.

The down force is coming from the fixed point of the top link on the tractor.
