@%$**! DayLight Savings Time

I found today that DST actually costs me time. Went out to split wood, half way through remembered I hadn't set my watch so did it. When I finished I found it had taken me 3 hours to accomplish what I normally do in 2.

Ha ha ha. Good one.

I'm so tired this morning. It's dark out, bah humbug!

We didn't get the extra hour of sunlight yesterday evening--it was cloudy.... regards, Mike

Yeah, downsides to everything good...
Last fall @ EST time I managed to finish in an hour what would normally take two. Guess I should restrict my splitting to fall when i seem to work faster. :D

Nothing like sending the kids to the bus stop to wait in the dark for the bus.

Now that I'm retired and have all day to do what I want, daylight savings time is probably more trouble to me than it is a help. On the other hand, when I had a day job and was a sundown farmer, that extra hour of daylight came in mighty handy.

I really hated it yesterday. Had to be up before 4am to get wife in for hip surgery. Add DST the day before; it was still effectively getting up at 3am. Long day!

Funny thing is that NONE of the local paper's web sites I read mentioned the DST change over this morning. That was really odd. I wonder how many people will be messed up with the time change because it was not as widely announced....

Later,
Dan

Around here it is the TV meteorologists who remind the general public.

The TV weather readers might have had a reminder but we don't watch much TV and none of the commercial TV stations. We can get the weather quicker on the Internet. The local TV station website did not mention the time change either but they always have in the past.

It may have been just a coincidence but the traffic on Monday morning was very light. Tuesday was a mess. I really had to wonder if people did not reset their clocks but I find the hard to believe.:laughing::laughing:

It's a bit old fashioned I admit, but we use a paper desk calendar to keep track of things. Calendars generally have the time change dates labeled. We have a cell phone, iPod, iPad, Kindle, laptop and desktop and still make good use of the <$10 calendar which I check every morning with the first cup of coffee. :)
