I am an extreme commuter. I stayed home on this one. Today listening to the news, it might go down as the worst commuting day in DC at surrounding counties HISTORY.
The combination of rain, prevent pre-treatment,
the sleet that came down, added to the hazards of driving,
the snow as fast moving and fast "dumping" as it was 2-3 inches an hour, PLUS
the governments EARLY dismissal, just compounded the traffic. PLOWS were stuck as well as commuters.....
10-12-14 hour commmutes, 96 abandoned cars on ONE parkway, were the norm.....
INCREDIBLE.
At the height of the storm, I heard 400,000 customers without power.
INCREDIBLE.
