I need to figure out a way to mount my mower spindles at this dead center point so I can eliminate the need for bushings and grease fittings.

According to a special ed course, just look for the part that is not rotating.... but don't do that while the spindles are "spinning"...

Just spin the rest of everything around the fixed spindle and you'll be fine
