Mahindra 3525
Hi, all. I'm new here , so I hope this is showing up in the right place. I don't know much about diesels. I was using my Mahindra 3525 and set it to idle while I hooked up the bale spike. It died and has refused to fire since. It turns over well, but that's it. I'm thinking fuel problem (there's plenty in the tank). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to TBN............

If it was idling and just quit my guess would be the fuel may have gelled if it is too cold outside.
What was the outside air temp. Have you used any fuel treatment to prevent gelling. If not, you probably should. I use Power Service (white bottle) year round. It is a Cetane booster, water displacer, and has anti gel properties.
Can you see the fuel filter or remove it to check for a waxy look. If that's what happened you need to 1) (best choice) get the tractor inside where you can warm the fuel back up or 2) get a salamander heater fired up where the tractor is and drape a tarp around the front to keep the heat in. Gelled fuel will reliquify when heated. Sometimes a hair dryer blowing on the filter will do it too.

Thanks, George. I use anti-gelling additive and it hasn't been that cold here. Was in the low 60s today and still won't restart.

Wow, low 60's!!! We can't seem to get above 25*.
Still might be a dirty / plugged fuel or air filter. Also check your fuel cap. If you have a vented cap and the vent is blocked it could cause stalling. Just throwing out ideas here. As long as it turns over fine you are getting compression so the leaves an air or fuel problem. Hope you get it going.

Maybe safety switch..seat,pto, etc.

If it just "quit", it could be the last time you fueled or if the weather has been damp/wet, you may have moisture in your fuel system...your fuel filters should have a drain plug on/near the bottom of them..try and drain some fuel out (not a lot but you will see if any water comes out)...once you do that "re-prime" your system (if you don't know how, read your op. manual...it should tell you how..then try and start it..Let us know..also you should use the Mahindra forum in this website..lots of good info and some dealers may chime in... Did it quit when you stood off the seat to get up? A few seconds later? Did it stumble or just shut right off?
At 60 your fuel should be fine, unless laced with water or dirt. I vote for safety switch or loose connection at fuel solenoid. Let us know.

Thanks, guys, It was apparently the fuel filters. I had a chance to fool with it today and got it started by priming it. Will go for filters tomorrow.
