Hello Everyone.....
Wondering if I can get some advise?
I purchased a restored 1967 JD 110... It wasn't holding a Battery Charge so, I took the Initiative to change the Negative Battery Cable. The one that was on there was some flimsy "tin foil" type of Cable...
I thought swapping the Negative Cable may be an easy fix.... Not Quite!!!!!
I tried to start her, saw one big spark AND NOW SHES COMPLETELY DEAD!!!!!!
The first thing I thought would have been a "fuse" but cant seem to find one....
Not sure where to go from here? Any Ideas?

Thanks for the Grammar lesson....

Sorry, that's always in my signature, and wasn't directed at you personally.

My post was honestly trying to help narrow down the problem. Good luck with it.

Check your battery voltage. You may have a safety switch keeping it from starting. Like a PTO switch or seat switch.

Have you tried some jumper cables from the negative post to the frame or the engine block?? That would eliminate your ground cable issue.. Make sure your brake is on and that your blades are not engaded..

It's been almost 30 years since I sat on our 110, but I seem to recall a safety switch on both the clutch pedal and the pto.

Any update....I love those old tractors....and the versions with the curved fenders are the best looking IMHO.

I did not think they had a safety switch standard, but that means little now.

Ours was a 68 with the more square fenders, but lots better seat. I know the pto had an interlock. The first day we had it we tried to mow grass about 3 feet deep. My sister was driving and she thought she wrecked it because it wouldn't start again.
We always parked it with the clutch/brake locked down, so it was a long time before we knew it had the clutch interlock.

I don't doubt it for a second. Machine had like 10hp....now we seem to think unless it has 20+hp it can not do a darn thing......So many people are hung on how big stuff is when you really just don't need that much.....Seems I remember reading that somewhere :p

Same question where did you see the spark at?

Not holding a charge and when you replaced the ground with a new one,
and got a big spark, tells me,,....
you had a short to ground, draining your battery, you just made it worse by replacing a new ground cable,
find the short and you should be ok afterwards.
Look where you seen the spark, you should see a burned or broken wire.
