------------------------------------------------------------------------------When I went to replace my bearings and found out the price said hey I can buy tire assembly from TSC for low price that fits and has roller bearings and is not solid rubber so might be little smoother. Tried one and it fit like a champ. So installed all four and greased them and aired them up. When the air pressure was filled the tire got too wide to clear the forks. So had to pull them off, clean them up and return.
Realize you said it ran quite, on my full size tractor I am sitting far enough above the deck for the noise is little issue. On my compact tractor too close, and do use ear protection.
Think you will be very pleased with that mower.
I have the RDTH, and I changed to the pneumatic tires/wheels about 11 years ago, and the forks are wider. The BH supplied wheel is much heavier than any of the similar looking wheels, and the tires are much heavier in tread area and sidewall, and have sealer in them. Never had a flat, and it takes about 2 years to lose enough pressure to require topping off with 2-3 PSI. So much for all the dealers stocking only hard tires due to fear of flats. If you were ever to try the air tires, you would never understand why you tolerated the hard tires, there is that much difference; not only smoother, but much quieter also on less than smooth yards due to the noise transferred to the sheetmetal deck and then transferred to the 3 point arms. When I changed mine out in 98 the complete wheel and tire assy with bearings was only a few dollars more than a bare wheel, and a complete fork/wheel/tire assy was only a little more than the bare fork, and sets of 4 in a wholegoods "kit" was less each item than one assembly as a repair/replacement. I paid $304.00 for the kit back then and purchased an extra single assembly for $90.00 to prevent down time in case of damage. Don't know how much they would cost today, but if you ever try them you will never go back to hard tires.
