I am not an idiot - have a Ph.D.. I was in a good mood when i posted - i was just curious as to how many people out there experience this sort of thing. that is all.

I've worked with many PhD's, who were idiots and many who weren't. There are idiots in all walks of life. I would never say you are, as I don't know you at all, but education doesn't exempt people from being idiots.

Many times it seems quite the opposite.

Just to be clear, I meant no offense to you. I was more chuckling at how I get occasionally when faced with a "you gotta be kidding me" moment. It seems they run in batches.

I think by a literal definition a person cannot be an idiot and have a Ph.D. But they can lack common sense and be ignorant of many things, notwithstanding their area of expertise.

Most of our congressman and senators have higher degrees, about half with Law degrees and many with Ph.D's, and there is certainly not an idiot among those highly effective leaders.....

I wouldn't run off just yet. This is a great group, you just provided low hanging fruit with the PhD comment, you have to expect a little fun would be had with that. Take no offense and keep contributing.
