As far as tire sizes go, I found out about them when I bought my NH TC48DA. The rims are 24", and the tires are 18.4. Didn't think much about it. Thought what in the world is NH doing just putting a tire slightly wider than the 17.5 that go on the TC 35/40/45 sreies? Why didn't they just put the same tire width on mine? Well I found out. The slightly wider tire also has a much greater circumfrence. I really didn't notice this until I had my TC48 next to my buddies TC35. Then the tallness of the 24-18.4 was very evident. I'm sure your tires are the same way. 13.6 isn't much wider than 12.4, or whatever size they were suppose to come with. Until you place them next to the size you are suppose to have. Hope this is resolved for you soon.

Bull,
My .02....Don't do this via telephone or em. Drive to the dealership and see the owner in person. It is way to easy to blow someone off over the phone or hit "delete" to an em. If it were my tractor i would load it up and drop it off at the dealer and have the owner come out and inspect the tractor. If you have no trailer, see the owner first and request that he send one out to pick it up. I like doing business eye to eye, especially when a problem crops up. I think you will get a much better response even if it is out of your way to do so.

There are a number of issues with this tractor, but the tire issue is the most important and more urgent. I decided to enforce it first, although all the issues were communicated to the dealer before.

Agreed, face to face works best if you cannot do it in other time-saving manners (dealership is in another city).

He claimed not to know about the tires (or any issue), but I am sure he does.

It has now done over 100 hours, but complained about the lack of space between the kleats and fender much earlier, and pointed it out again at the 50 hour service to the same guy who answers the phone at times. Twice that guy would bring it to the owner's attention.

Being my first tractor ever it took me some time to realise it has the wrong tires fitted and not a tractor design problem. I would have thought it should have been apparent to the guy servicing the tractor.

Misrepresentation and lack of knowledge of this tractor by the sales rep (now left) is another issue.

Good greif Charlie Brown! Can you even fit a piece of paper in there?

If you don't get any satisfaction soon from the dealer I would take legal action against them. That is just plain uncalled for.

Hi Bullebak,
Hope all the issues are resolved in your favor.

You mentioned 50 hour service so I figure you must have logged those hours. I am just surprized you even accepted delivery on a tractor that had corny tires like than on it in the first place. Was this new or used?

If used, you probably bought as is.
IF new, how could you sign for that tractor?

Which is it?

CBB, as this is my first tractor ever, I excuse myself for not being aware of things I should look for. Like, I assumed the FEL pivot pins would have been greased prior to delivery (even so they looked clean like the rest). They were not. Neither was I made aware of the need to check the securing bolts every time, so when I lost one of the pivot pins due to the bolt coming loose and dropping out I learned that the inside was totally dry.

That might make me look like an idiot (which I am not as I repair and service most things on my cars), but next time (if any) I buy a tractor I will surely have a checklist.

I was also told by the sales rep that they come with AG tires and industrial tires are not available for these tractors (which is what I wanted). He also did not know how to fit the sunroof (which arrived a little later). Might look simple enough except when it comes assembled with the U-bolts inverted and no instructions you wouldn't think you need to disassemble the entire thing first. Courtesy of Wallace I got instructions and it is now fitted properly.

I stuffed around for days trying to get cartridges for the grease gun supplied, but they are not available here. Why on earth do they bother to supply a tool that cannot be used is beyond me. Then I bought a proper grease gun with fitting cartridges.

One of the front tires was flat within days, turns out that the inner tube was incorrectly fitted (creased) and ripped apart. I am still waiting for re-embursement to have a new tube fitted locally.

And that's not all.

I spent a lot of time before purchase in doing my homework to select a good tractor that will suit my purpose, and had a drive one like this at the distributor.

I bought it new, and no need to sign for delivery. Personal check also ok. They don't bother signing the 50 hour service docket either. That's how it is around here.

I really wonder where the tractors get assembled, at the dealer or the distributor?

In the USA, the tires are sourced here in the states, so industrials may or not be available for this tractor in your market. We dont get grease guns, I guess that solves the problem of it being a non inch standard cartridge (I think in the old days you just packed them with grease? maybe thats how the asian ones still do it?). Daedong is the parent company, not Kioti, perhaps they are getting ready to use the KIOTI name in other english speaking countries. KIOTI was the name used while a third party inporter distributed the tractors in the USA. now Daedong owns the distribution arm here, perhaps a similar action in Austrialia may occur in the future. As for assembly, in the USA we get it either way, assembled on rubber ready to display for sale or in a crate, requiring installation of tires & wheels and ROPS. (the tractor itself arrives assembled in the crate less these items, at least on most models). The ones we get assembled are assembed by Kioti USA/Daedong so yours was either assembled by the dealer or by the distributor. I don't know what the readership of this forum is like in Austrialia, perhaps there is a more localized outlet for your public defamation? Slinging arrows into the wind and hoping you hit your target seems a little unfair to us USA dealers who put the right tires on our tractors...

Bluechip, I suggest you don't start an argument that my intention is to defame anyone. If you haven't noticed, I have an issue that needs to be resolved. I learned a lot via this forum and that is what forums are for.

I stick with facts, don't sling arrows into the wind and I don't identify any dealer or distributor.

Just like others praise the product and support, I tell my story. I have not criticised the product. I find the tractor basically great. But should it turn out that the specified tires are not available, it becomes a different matter altogether. I hope to learn this within the next few days.

There is no "localized outlet" around here. Daedong/Kioti tractors are virtually unheard of here.

Another tractor (DK35) for sale locally on ebay looks like to have the same tires...
