It's everywhere and it was happening before Covid. Went to a local JD dealer a couple of years ago and was interested in a new Honda 5000 watt generator for my business. Main sales guy (who I had purchased from several times in the past) told me to write my contact information down and leave it on his desk, as he was taking care of a delivery. He would call me later to answer any questions. No problem. I can understand that.
More than a week went by and I never heard a thing from him. This was after I'd purchased a JD 790 tractor with loader & 4' bush hog, a 60 inch 3 point snow blower, a JD riding mower and a Yamaha four wheeler from that same guy over the years.
Needless to say, a competitor had no problem selling me that exact same model of Honda generator and loading it into my truck a half hour after I walked in his door. Never did hear from the guy at JD dealer and he's since retired. I've been back there for warranty service on an X394 that I purchased elsewhere, but never bought from this particular dealer again after that brush off.
