L2501 HST 4x4
First time new tractor owner here, but not completely oblivious and had some doubts about the scraper blade that came with my L2501. He gave me the RB0560 and it weighs 148 lbs. I decided to check the land pride website myself when I had some time this weekend and see that under their "matched" list it says I should have the RB1560. I called the dealer this morning and the salesman says he sells the 0560 all the way up to an L3901 and in 15 years has never had a "problem".

I find that hard to believe, maybe no problems but the 0560 blade is built significantly lighter and I would appreciate the beefier build and extra 100 lbs. the 1560 has. Sure I can hang weights on anything, but that's not the point...I feel like he should have been more clear upon original purchase, and now says I need to be approved for more $ to get the heavier duty blade (claims it to be a special order, they have never stocked it) and he'll have to swap serial# info on the contract that already went through.

Does this sound right to you guys/gals? I just spent a ton of $ on this tractor setup and didn't even really try to talk him down on anything, I'm a very fair person and not looking for a handout, I also believe the buyer should always do due diligence and in my case I missed this detail... but starting to wonder what the best approach to this situation would be?

You'll likely have doubts about the lighter weight blade and would purchase the the RB1560. The RB1560 has the same mold board thickness although a bit taller. The cutting edge is much thicker and reversible which could be of benefit.

I find it hard to believe they would spec the RB0560 on Tractors over 25hp as it exceeds the recommendations from Land Pride.

Out of curiosity what is the price difference between the two?

In my recent talks to dealers, I knew going in which range of equipment I needed/wanted. Did not disclose to any of them, always went through the work I needed to do, and they pretty much named off their recommendation matching my choices, only a few times did they mention a lighter rang or model.

If the dealer has sold a number of the lighter blades he should have no problem moving the one you essentially want to trade in. His excuse about the serial number on the existing contract seems pretty lame. Why can't you write up a new contract where just the blades are exchanged? You trade in the present blade for the one you want. There might need to be some money also exchanging hand but you don't seem to be too worried about that. I would push the dealer to do what you want. In the end a heavier blade is going to be something you will be happier with.

Edited to add that I wouldn't use the present blade in any way untill you have this resolved to your satisfaction.

If it's on your Kubota finance contract and everything's finalized there will be issues swapping. Technically if the dealer takes it back it's a used product. This happens all the time and typically a dealer will work with you but there is usually cash involved to make up the difference since financing was final.

I would go back to the dealer and work out an exchange. Your concerns are valid. It is not difficult to bend a light duty blade and then you have a problem. Even if it costs you a bit of money, you will be better served by upgrading now.

If the blade is unused the dealer should be able to get the blade reinstated as new inventory. Probably not as easy as talking you into keeping the 0572, but should be doable.

I have a JD2025r and use a 72” blade and it’s a smaller tractor that your Kubota. Unless you want a narrow blade you want a 72” blade plus a heavier one.

I believe my dealer Barlows and any other dealer should take the light weight blade back and give you/get you the heavier weight blade with you paying cash for the difference easy peasy and also give you a hat for working it outwith them to your satisfaction. I think the contract and financing issue is a bunch of crap for an implement that is a few hundred dollars of a thousands of dollars deal.:2cents:
