I agree about the interest rates. With the way the Government is printing money, it is only a matter of time before the inflation and interest rates reach the levels of the late 70's or higher.

Who has the government's ink and paper contracts -- I could use a good stock tip... ;):D

You are too old fashioned, Kent. It's virtual money these days, no need to print a thing. A few keystrokes and the national debt is increased by a few hundred billion. A few more and the funds are on their way to the favored few.

Please note that "all that money" the government has promised isn't getting "out there". So, people aren't buying and borrowing and buying and borrowing...

No inflationary pressures - nada, zip, zilch. Hardly enough "business air" out there to rustle the hair on your head!

This one is gonna take some time to smooth all the wrinkles out - IMO. 12-18% interest in 12-18 months... that would mean a "super-heated economy" nearly overnight!!

Lot's of folk's will need to go back to work -- to qualify for any kind of loan.

Pretty hard to have inflationary pressure when no one is buying...

I don't know for sure but with this administration it probably is Haliburton on a no bid contract.:D:D:D

I think Akfish has hit it on the head.

It would kill the economy even worse if rates went up and no one is buying now. Up here in the Great White North it's not as bad as many of the poor folks in the US are seeing but it's still a very worrysome time.

I guess we have to hope that the new gov't administration does a good job as whatever Obama does will seal the destiny for both the US and Canada. (Unlike the 3 ring circus that is our gov't right now GRRRRRRRR!)

My wife and I are just redoing our mortgage and we went short term with the right to lock in. So far they have told me they will still lend to me ;) but never in my life have I ever worried about possible credit worries. It is scary to say the least. Think about the many folks who have had trouble in the past with their credit, they will be really hurt by these times and will have a hard time rebuilding their lives.

Everybody keep their fingers crossed for everyone else.

Things are staying steady here in the UK, although there has been a drop in online search for Agricultural machinery and used tractors across Europe.
