Creekbend has been using" Dear Sir" in his replies for a long time. Nothing specific in regards to this particular poster. I suspect he uses "Sir" and "Ma'am" when addressing people in person, an admirable trait that is lost to most these days.

Which is fine but can you expect everyone, especially someone new here to know that. I'm not saying it was said in a derogatory way, I'm just saying it could be misinterpreted. If read in the wrong context it'll just be magnified when others start calling names.

Personally, I doubt the OP's original post, and I believe Creekbend did also. The difference between the two of us - I just came out and called the OP a troll, while Creekbend pointed out the inconsistencies in the OP's post, which would alert the OP that additional info was warranted to clarify his story.

Now if Creekbend had said, "Dear Sir, you are a Troll", I could see your point.

And to the OP, please pay us no mind. It was an "interesting" story to say the least. We would love to hear more. I am man enough to retract any statement that I may have made in error.

Why did you use the words "Dear Sir"? What would you call someone calling him a troll and another agreeing with him?

I used the introduction "Dear Sir" because the OP was a new member and I was unacquainted with the OP. In regards to the other part of your question, I can't speak for others. I, myself, never considered the OP to be a "Troll" and never posted any reply to the posts stating that the OP was a Troll or agreed with any of the other members' assumptions. Further more, I have used "Dear Sir" as an introduction several times in the past when replying to a new member's post. In regards to your implication that my post "can be read two different ways", please read the OP's initial post. The OP made two statements. "What can I sue for" and "I'm goin to war". In addition, there were several unorthodox methods that transformed in relation to the OP and the Dealer. If I may? (1) such as seeing the different type of oil and not speaking up at the time, (2)Paying for the work performed, (3)questions regarding the starting ability of the tractor;etc. I asked the questions because I considered them pertinent in helping and convincing the OP to realize and understand that he would have a difficult time in proving the before mentioned problems were caused and performed in a irresponsible way by the Dealer.Thank you for listening.

When I see a post that seems "inconsistent" I look at the personal profile info given by the forum member, If there is non then I usually move to the next thread. Someone that doesn't tell anything about themselves can easily and very often are disruptive to the tranquility to open forum boards.

To, danwhitworth, reading your original post carefully, you simply made statements and didn't once ask the TBN community a specific tractor question or for advice.

"What can I sue for," is your only question.

TBN is not a recognized source for legal advice, but there ARE people here who are logical and will ask some of the same questions you will face in court...thus I suggest you be prepared to respond to them.

For us in the TBN community, I recommend we cease entries on this thread unless and until the OP returns (he's said it's his last post) with tractor related questions, not legal ones.

John, Many time people dont want alot of info on their profile . for various reasons.Many time I have clicked to view peoples picture only to find I can progress through their entire photobucket.seemed kind of creapy but some I could see 'what they had' and then even a mail box.Sometimes Ive had some encounters of my own and choose to not disclose much info. I am honest and forthright when i post ,and just choose not to put much info out there.Im sure some people put a bunch on there for whatever reason. and could be ficticious).I completly know how you mean , I am guilty also of making that same decision myself.I try to remember how I sometimes judge people by if they have a suit etc.Looking back many times I have lost times with someone because I judged him by having a suit on. His job position dictated it and I judged him . With some regrets now.Online judgement of people is very difficult indeed.

I've been around longer than most and I still haven't filled out much about me. Maybe I should but I also don't like to post very much about me publicly on the internet. I see it as a matter of personal taste. I do agree with you, I often read posts and then just move on without replying for one reason or another.
