Dealing with Dealers II

mewantatractor, I am really on the fence here. I will either go with the jd2210 or the Kioti ck20 with the same equip. here is what I am looking at the JD 2210 is 14,375. + 6% Mi sales tax. so the total is 15,257. I recieved a quote from an internet dealer on the Ck20 the same price as I recieved from my local dealer.15,300. If I buy from the internet guy I would save the 6% sales tax, I would however have to go about 600 miles round trip to pick it up which is no big deal as I have a deisel 3/4 ton PU so a 14-15 hr day. Now comes the real kicker my local dealer also sells MF and he quoted me the cg2300 with the exact same equip as the JD for 14,653 inc taxes. So what's a guy to do I live in a rural area and as much as I would like to not pay the taxes I still need to think of our local dealer whom If we don't support they won't be there any longer. I like the Kioti size but my land is a little soft in these rainy springs and falls and I wonder if the Kioti is a little too heavy. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I have a pole barn so the size doesn't really play here. One thing is for sure I have the fever so I think one of them will end up in the barn soon. How are you comming on your search for a JD.

I'm pretty much set on the JD2210, not only the financing that JD offers the 2210 is exactly what I need and nothing more. What is the loader lift capacity of the MF or the Kioti?? I also asked for a quote from an internet dealer on a Kioti or Kubota BX2230. However, what clinched it for me was not only the superior lift capacity of the 2210 (620lbs vs 400lbs) also the HDAP tires look soooo cool. And the dealers, three of them within 20 miles all owned by the same company. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I guess I shop differently than most for tractors. I try to find out everything I can about the product before I talk to a dealer. I call dealers in other parts of the country and see what they will quote me on the equipment I choose and then I deal with the best price if he is close enough for me to drive to. I don't intentionally play dumb but I don't provide them any info that would indicate that I know anything about the product. You would be surprised at what you can find out about a dealer when he thinks you are uninformed. I use this to then find out if I trust this man enough to deal with him.

The lift capacity you stated is for 3 pt. hitch? Loader? The lift capacity of the CK20 3pt. hitch is 1109# and for the KL120 loader it's 1074# to full height. I don't find the extra weight is a problem in muddy areas, as a matter of fact, I think it helps as a lighter tractor would just spin without the traction that weight affords. John

I don't know what state you live in because you haven't filled in your profile, but don't believe that you can avoid the sales taxes for very long. It is hard to hide a tractor and things like this have a way of coming to the surface to the tax people. Most states have either a use tax in conjunction with the sales tax. Many states also have an excise or personal property tax on top of that, that goes to the town or county. If your neighbor is paying it on his tractor, you can almost bet that he wants to make sure that you pay it on your tractor. In CT you pay taxes on the head of cattle, chicken, horses, tractors, snowmobiles, cars, trucks, trailers, and any thing else that the town tax assessor can pin on you!!!! I believe that if they thought that they could get away with taxing your septic system as a fertilizer system, they would tax that also. Our neighbor to the East is known as Taxachusetts, but Connecticut has them beat hands down. Pay the sales taxes up front, it is less expensive than getting caught later on.

Where did you get the lift info on the 2210? I have a brochure and can not find it. The Mf is 470lbs at full heigth. The financing is about the same with Mf they have same deals going on. What I do like about the deere deal is that it goes thru july. any how it seems deere will win out given the lift capacity.

Junkman I live in Michigan and we pay a 6% tax no Personal property I don't know if I would get caught but probably would as that is my luck. anyhow I have no problem trying to get this state for the tax, where my problem really lies with the internet thing is in not supporting local business I always buy where I live. The area I live in is a large farming area with many good and decent people living here so I guess the internet thing is out. anyhow thanks for the advise on the ck20 I am really leaning that way the tilling and loader capacities are much superior to the sub-compacts. as I mentioned I am on the fense here but I know I will fall one way or the other soon. I hope I am not getting into stealling this thread here please excuse me.
