Kubota b7500hst
I brought my B7500 into the Kubota dealer (this dealer is the only dealer for Kubota that is near,) on May 20th. I told them I bought it used and the repair would most likely be a warranty job. I then asked if they wanted to work on it and when they could start. I was told they would like to do the job and would start on it the next day (May 21st,) if I brought it in.

On the 23rd I called and asked what they had found to be wrong. They didn't start working on it, told me that they would by the afternoon of the 24th, so I called right before they closed on the 24th. I was told they hadn't started on it, but I hadn't expected them to, I asked if I had brought my Kubota to the wrong place and was told no they were working on things in the order they came into the shop.

After thinking about the little bit I did get to use the B7500, and the rebates in place I decided over the weekend to ask about trading it in for a L3010hst, so I called the salesman yesterday the 28th and asked what they would do for a trade in. He said he would have to find out what the repair will cost first. So, here it is the evening of the 29th, and I haven't heard anything from either the service dept or the salesman.

OK, is this normal for a Kubota dealer? What should I do, just be patient?

Every dealer is of course different, but I wouldn't be too pleased. If they tell you they can work on it tomorrow, I woudl expect them to do that. If it slips one day, I could see that, but how could they tell you they can they mistake a week's work for a day's work?

On the trade, if it's waranty work, why does the cost of the repair matter? If it does, get them to fix itunder warranty, then trade in a fully functional unit for full trade value.

I KNOW I WOULD NOT BE TO PLEASED; how can they have it for 8 days and not even start on it?if u do decide to trade up i would suggest you go elsewhere with your business.

Was surprised this morning when I got a call that my B7500 was fixed. I think all the rain, keeping the farmers in helped slow things down for the dealer's service dept. Asked the salesman about the trade to a 3010hst, and here were the numbers $17100 with the FEL. Trade price on 2001 B7500hst with new FEL and 41 hours $9500. I decided immediately to keep the b7500 and learn to work it to the most advantage considering it's size.
Gave the service manager a warm thank you on the way out. In retrospect, I think that I probably would not have been upset at all with them if originally they had told me that they would have it done in two weeks, and thrilled when it was finished in 8 business days.

I looked up your machine on Machinerylink.com, and it priced your tractor at that price the dealer quoted you in poor condition, without a loader.
In premium condition (42 hours sounds pretty good to me) it should fetch 10, 700. without loader. Now I realize a dealer has to make a profit, but my guess is he made a profit when he sold it to you, and would make another profit on the new machine. I suppose he could make a few more grand selling your used machine too. The guy should be able to make a living without raping you coming and going, it shouldn't be too difficult to find a better deal somewhere else.

boone,
my dealer just gave me 14k for my 2410 with mmm and fel with 150 hours on it. i really feel that you could get a much better trade for your bota with such little hours.....hell sell it yourself and pick up the 3010 later.

$9,500 for the trade is low, but the price of the new machines is very competitive out there. You can get a new B7500 HST for ~ $10,100. Add at most $2,500 for a dealer installed FEL. For most folks looking for a small tractor, it is easy to justify the extra bucks for a brand new one. Just my $0.02.

I'm not complaining about the trade price, just stating what they told me. I can't justify spending that much more for what I intend to use the Kubota for. I'm just a bit concerned how I'll be able to operate on wet muddy rutted ground with the R4 tires. An extra set of tires may become necessary.

First job off the trailer was to pull out the truck and trailer which I sank in the front pasture when I turned around on the way in. A couple of clevis hitches and the snatch strap then the Kubota walked the whole deal right back onto the drive. Almost no tire spin to tear up the gravel drive, four wheel drive is nice.

Next job was a little brush hogging, very impressive performance.

It seems to me that Machinerylink.com values stuff on the high side of realistic. Am I wrong?
