well if it was by today's standards the 2030 would be in the category 2 size (the bigger the category the bigger the tractor is physically) and have 30 engine HP, the other two would be in the category 5 size and one would have 203 engine HP and the other 210 engine HP. That would be IF it was by today's standards, but also if it was today's it would also have a letter after saying the capabilities.

My dealer said think of the letters as E is for Economy Model, M is for doing Most tasks, and the R is Ready for anything, he didn't say what the D is but I'm sure it would follow the same lines.

How about a 830

my 5210 and the 5203 are dif size..same hp..one is 4x4 the other isnt...ones a 01 the others an 03

That's why I said if it was by today's standards. Back then who knows what they were thinking to make the model numbers.

That would be the old numbering system my explanation was if the numbers were on a tractor of the new numbering system.

lol, or a draw system, whoever picks the best number gets a bonus on their cheques for how many tractors of that model was sold.

I understand what you are saying about the new model numbers but picture this, four years from now a newbie buyer is looking at used tractors and doesn't know when the latest model changes occurred. What is the difference between a 4520 (real old) or prior to 2009 model, later model with more hp and the 4060R or whatever they all the next model. It can be confusing for those entering a tractor search that are not familiar with the variants.

True, I wouldn't know the difference besides the model numbers, hopefully the newbie buyer will see this amazing forum first and ask questions and look at tractordata.com.
