Never owned a tractor and looking for an objective opinion between the two. Such as cost, horsepower, service, parts and longevity. I've recently bought 5 acres in lower Baton Rouge area(flat lands), also have land in Nacitoches (hills) but nothing to steep. So I'm wondering whats the best bang for my buck and any web sites with price info on the two.

Hi Dave
welcome to tractorbynet !
The mahindras are a great tractor and are priced a lot lower than the others by quite a margin, in other words they dont dip them in gold before they paint them, which makes it quite affordable /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Go to www.mahindrausa.com & search out dealer locator with your zip code for the nearest dealer to you & good luck

I was also in the same position. I bought the 2615 HST,FEL and backhoe. The dealer was great, never knocked the green, blue, or orange. He did however point out numerous advantages of buying Mahindra power, capacities and cost factors. Also I bought a grader blade, box blade, york rake , post hole digger and front forks with quick change for 24,000. the other couldnt compare. Great tractor only have 2 hrs but loving it.

I recently purchased a 4530 and after a lot of looking and investigating both the green tractors and the orange, I felt that I was getting a lot more tractor for the money with Mahindra. Just a couple of points that I was looking at was the overall wt of the tractor and the sheer lifting power of the FEL. Nothing on the Kubota lot could compare in the same power range.
Honestly I had never heard of Mahindra until a friend suggested I look into them when I began my search for a new tractor. I only have 5 acres as well and don't let a dealer tell you what size tractor you need based on how many acres you have. Tell them what you want to do and match the tractor to that. That was one thing that upset me because you can have a lot of heavy lifting and digging on a small bit of land or just simple mowing on 30 acres. So buy the tractor for the job not for the acres.
