I want to add a backhoe to my implement collection, which would go on the L3130. Will most likely go with the Woods bh90x. Wasn't sure how this size backhoe would work on this tractor, so now I am considering upsizing the tractor to a newer 40 series with a cab. I'm just a little shocked on how much tractor prices have risen in the last 5 yrs.

Are you thinking of upgrading to more power because of the backhoe? I think the BH90 or BH90X are a good fit for the 3130. I just recently purchased a BH90 for my GL3130. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I have only had the BH90 for a week and I have already dug out a digger pine stump, and dug about 400' of ditch for irrigation pipe. Every once in a while I get hung up on numbers and think that maybe I should have bought more horse power, but then my tractor reminds me that I really don't need more. It would be nice to have a new Grand L 40 series tractor with HST plus and a little more power, but I can't justify the cost. Just curious, what do you use the 5030 for?

Basically was concerned about the HP versus the backhoe. Glad to hear the BH90X works well on the L3130. Also if I upgrade I can finance the whole package AND I would go with a Cab. Plus I currently don't have the power beyond. The L5030 is kept at my dad's farm, too far to move back and forth, otherwise I would put the hoe on it. When I get a hoe I might just get a subframe for this tractor also, just in case.

2 subframes sounds like a great idea - you can load the hoe on a trailer with the 3130 and unload it at your dad's with the 5030, and you've got a backhoe for both machines.

As for hoe-to-hp ratio, it really comes down more to hydraulic flow. I think the BH90 would be a good size for both of those machines.

I'm not trying to talk you out of upgrading the 3130, but I just wanted you to know that Kubota will finance attachments by themselves. They just started doing this recently.

Do not think, they will finance a Woods backhoe with the low rates only standard rates!

I just got back from the dealer. Here's what I got quoted:
L4240HSTC
Loader with 3rd function
bucket

$36K
That's only 2K under list.

I thanked him and left.

This wasn't the guy I normally deal with, nor will I again.
His quote on the backhoe was $8800, more than $1k more than my normal sales guy had already quoted me.

On my way out I saw my normal sales guy, and chatted a little with him, but I did not go back in and have him give me a price.

I have a L 3130HST and bought the Woods BH 90X a year ago. It works great on the 3130. I prefer to operate it with the tractor engine at just under 2,000 RPM. This provides plenty of GPM flow to run the backhoe.
