New BX2670 with no mower deck. Use Zero Turn to mow.

Bought Bxpanded Under Armor skid plate. Need to adjust the deck bracket so it stays up at all times so the skid plate will not dig into the dirt when in reverse. Spent the morning trying to get the deck bracket (with skid plate attached) to remain in the up position when the three point hitch is lowered. No joy.

Dealer sales rep told me the new BX2670 deck bracket would not stay in the up position when the three point hitch is lowered. I do not believe him because successful use of the Bxpanded Under Armor skid plate requires the deck bracket stay in the up position. Otherwise you tear the skid plate off when it engages the ground in reverse.

Gonna' take the tractor to the dealer after lunch to get some advice but I'm apprehensive about just how much they can help.

Anyone here have advice? Have searched the forum for similar problems and have not found a concise solution to this problem.

Any help will REALLY be appreciated . . .

It shouldn't be a problem if it is adjusted properly, just raise it up, hold the lift lever a bit longer than normal and rotate the knob into the TOP position. On mine, if you need it to go higher the adjustment rod is in the back on the left side. This should be in your owner's manual.

That's precisely what I did . . . something must not be adjusted properly. When rotating the knob to the TOP position, I can rotate any number of times with no effect. The deck bracket still comes down when 3PH is lowered. I have not yet adjusted the 'adjustment rod' just inside the right rear tire. Dunno' which way to turn it but maybe that should be my next step?

"hold the lift lever a bit longer than normal" is the key to making this work!

Took the tractor to the dealer. Checked with his mechanics, technicians, sales rep and the manager. None had any real idea as to how to make the deck bracket stay up while the 3PH went down. Then I recalled your tip to "hold the lift lever in the up position a bit longer than normal". Works every time!

Thanks so much for this solid tip.

This forum is absolutely worth the price of admission . . . and then some!

I didn't know that! Does it work the same way on the BX25?

I just had to readjust my BX24 since the lock nut came loose. On mine if I watch the height knob it moves a little when the arms are all the way up. I spent a lot of time playing with the adjustment as sometimes the knob would turn and other times it would hang up. After thirty minutes of scratching my head I finally gave it a shot with some triflow lubricant. Amazing what a little lubrication will do.

I've had a lot of problems with the deck height on my BX. Sometimes the knob won't turn, other times it turns easy. Luckily I hardly ever change it. On mine, if I lift up on the brackets, I can then turn it to the top positions and the arms will stay locked up. This is with the deck off.
