has anyone ever replaced the lift handle assembly on a cub cadet 2000 series? mine broke at the weld. the dealer wants $150 for the part @ $60/hr. but can't get to it for at least 2 wks. so, i'm just starting to tear it down. i'm going to have it welded. would appreciate any shortcuts or tips. thanks

Just buy it yourself and replace it. Nothing to it really, a simple lever. I can sell you the part for around $125.00 plus freight...don't bother with the labor fee at the dealership. The whole 2weeks things simple absurd, I could have to to your doorstep early next week. Dealer is just trying to save himself money by putting it on a stock order. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

as i have just started the job i haven't seen it to be really simple yet. so far i've had to remove the rear wheels to give me room to work, and from what i've seen i'm going to have to remove the entire fender just so i can punch out the two spring pins that hold the handle shaft inside the lift shaft. after all that i think i'd rather pay my welder $25 to reweld it rather than $125 for your part. still, any practical suggestions you might have to help me with the disassembly would be appreciated. thanks
