Deer fence ideas

I've found a 5'6" 3 board fence with 60" 2x4 welded wire has stopped most all of our deer. Only problem I had was the gates....they would jump over them easily, so I went back and added couple feet of welded wire to the top of them and that stopped that. The one or two that did get into the "green zone" got turned into dog food by way of a 30.06.

Our small plot is on a very steep hill side. When we had our house built, all the basement tailings were pushed out to create terraces. Each of the 5 terraces are about 3 ft tall/drop.

Approaching from the top increases the landing height by 3 ft if they manage to land on the next level down. But the terraces are only about 6 feet wide, so they are more like to land in the next one down making it 6 feet additional drop. So with a 5 foot fence, they maybe landing 11 feet down hill.

From the bottom, they have to clear the terrace and the fence, 5 foot fence and about 4+ feet height of sloped land. It is a rocky 40 to 45 deg angle and hard for me to even walk up.

Now the sides; The east side has a very steep side approach, 5 feet min at 45 deg and rock, some at 10 feet. The west side is along our foot path going from top of hill down to the bottom with each terrace being 3 feet lower. So the top of a 5 foot fence would be 8 foot above the trail.

Start to sound like these deer would need a catapult to get up.
