Bird,
when I pull up the lane week each evening, there are 8 deer 30 feet from the front door. When I wake up and warm up the Tacoma on the way to work, the same 8 are 10 feet out the kitchen window eating crab apples and mullberry leftovers (usually with a single hungry possum).
This summer, when the mulberry tree started dropping fruit, every morning there were no less than 4 turkey pairs with broods (I stopped counting at 35) under this tree which is 10 feet out the back door.
Saw one ringed neck pheasant the first week we moved in (last April) and on the 1st morning in our house, there was a female wood duck sitting in the fire place.
20 years of living in manhattan --- straight to this. Country baptism by fire methinks. (Actually, returning to my roots).
