Heck it's still deer season here in TX until the second week of January. I've gotten a small yearling so far, and am going to hunt the local lake for a doe this week sometime on a special hunt. It's pushing 70 degrees today . . . hope the skeeters stay home.
Didn't get drawn for a "X" premium zone, and was busy, so didn't get out deer hunting.
The turkey's and ducks are afraid and falling to my shotgun though. Had wild turkey for Thanksgiving(much better than store bought, much better!). My buddy and I limited out on ducks last wednesday. Was hoping to go tomorrow, but have to work... Maybe saturday, go do the sweat line on the refuge.
The wife got a nice six pointer, my son a big doe and I got a button buck. I saw a trophy buck, but he was smarter than me and I couldn't get a shot. The season has now ended and I am left with an unfilled tag due to waiting for the "big one". Well maybe next year.
Sure was cold hunting this year! The temps were in the low twenties with a 15-20mph wind. It snowed on us and dumped a five inch snow which was great for visibility and tracking.
We got summer sausage being made up for the hollidays, venison for chilli and some great butterfly steaks. Can't wait for next season.

Dave;
My muzzleloading setup is identical to yours, right down to the sabots. I have not shot anything besides paper with it however. I carried mine looking for my second NY doe, but never raised it to shoot.
I imagine from your success the sabots hit plenty hard.
