Is hydrogen Peroxide useful for getting ticks to back out?

My daughter tells me a drop of peppermint oil works within seconds and is all natural. I have not seen it myself yet.

Don't use tweezers to remove a tick unless it is the only way to access the tick.

We use this flat tick puller all of the time, Amazon.com : Pro-tick Remedy with 5x Magnifier, Key Chain, Tick Id Card and Tick Tutorial : Tick Removal Device : Pet Supplies. If we cannot access the tick with the flat tick puller we use a tick twister.

That and the credit card trick are probably the second worst way to get out a tick. Grabbing it by the body with tweezers (or similar tool) is the worst.

Grabbing the head with very fine tweezers is the most effective way of preventing them from puking into the wound.

Sorry, using tweezers is not the most effective way to remove a tick and it increases risk for no good reason. The tick twister and tick puller I posted are very easy to use and do not squeeze any part of the tick. Many times the tick head is already buried in the skin so there is NO WAY to get to the tick head. The last time we HAD to use tweezers is when the tick head was so buried the tick puller and twister could not get a grip on the tick. When we used the tweezers, the tick broke in half leaving the head in the skin. The doctor said to let the body handle it.

Try the posted tick puller and twister, they are much easier, faster and safer to use than any tweezer. They removed the smallest ticks which we can barely see. We can barely see the tick, much less its head, and I can't imagine anything more frustrating to try to use tweezers to grab one of these small tick's head. There are better, safer, and easier tools to use.

I've tried many of the removers, and the twisters work the best for me. Large or small, once you get tick deep in the claw and tight into that groove (like a crow bar or claw hammer on a nail), shift your fingers to the top of the handle. Using only your index finger and thumb, spin the twister several turns in one direction and the tick is out.
