Deere 1023E, 1025R, and 2025R recall

Just JD cutting corners to save profit again. Instead of two ounces of metal they use a half ounce. Then pat each other on the back gaining more profit on the entry level tractors. Looks like it came back and bit them.

That's a fairly pathetic comment imo. There have been 4 instances of failure reported from the several thousand items sold.

Kawasaki just recalled their engines for a fire risk. (Not for the first time, in my experience) and you see no reason to castigate them for "cutting corners" somewhere - No?

I'm pleased the manufacturers make the recalls to mitigate risk of damage/injury. Your USA regulations are very strong it seems and there is no incentive for manufacturers to save metal by 75%
(1/2 oz instead of 2 oz's)

This comment doesn't add to the Deere discussion. Stick to what you know about, this isn't it. ;);)

I got my letter today. They said to stop using it. Yeah right. They going to come mow for me? They are talking about 4 failures. The way I interpret it there have been 4 where people have wrecked or been hurt. I suspect much more than 4 failures.

And your commit falls lower than that. All it takes is one failure to kill somebody. Oh, but that's ok with you and JD to save a profit. You are so brainwashed. 🤣

I'm sure this is all a plot to discredit JD.

Back to what many of us have said...not much real difference in quality from brand to brand. Get a tractor you can afford from a dealer you can trust.

Paint doesn't matter.

I went out and checked my JD 2025r and the bell crank that is the problem on mine is cracked so it’s really not safe to use. If it breaks, you end up with no brakes. I called the dealer and they knew less about the recall than I did. The recall letter lists a date of October 25 for when the improvement program will be released for mine. I took a pic of mine and circle the crack in yellow.

Edit: Part number LVU31387 (found it, thanks)

Most people using their tractors seldom use the brake pedal as the HST will stop the tractor, however it is a safety device in sometimes critical situations.

Looks like an easy fix to replace that cracked piece.
It is easy to replace I’ve read, the problem is the new part would break again. The way I understand the recall will install a better part.

The only recall for vehicle that I know the back story is supplier cut corners , didn’t meet specifications and falsified data. Supplier went out of business
