Deere 2520 fuel filter maintenance question

I bought a "service" kit from the dealer so I could do my 200 hour service on my Deere 2520.
Changed the hydro oil, new filter, cleaned the suction screen (very, very clean this time around), changed the engine oil (doesn't appear to use any oil) and filter, installed a new primary air filter.

There is a spin on fuel filter. Looks like I need to wait until my fuel is low(?), shut off the fuel at the sediment bowl, drain the sediment bowl then change the fuel filter.
Does the fuel tank line run directly to the filter before the sediment shut off? Trying to avoid/anticipate diesel fuel spilling out at this point?

Shut off the fuel at the tank should limit any need to wait until the tank is low.
But have something to catch some small amount of fuel when changing the filter is also a good idea.

Consider this point though, how much fuel have you used in 200 hrs of use? Probably not much so if the sediment bowl looks good and you have been careful to use clean fuel save the fuel filter and change it when it is needed. If you used 200 gallons of fuel so far I would be surprised. Now if you have crud in your sediment bowl you should change the filter.

Thanks both. I did not realize I was able to shut off the fuel near the tank. The sediment bowl looks very clean so maybe I will wait!
