deere 2520 hydraulic valve noisy

i am going to put a union in the "power beyond" lines (bypass the new valve) and see if it makes any difference, last week the 3 point ran the box scraper just fine....if that don't work i'll have to put the block plugs back in and the set screw out, to see if that is the problem, if that don't cure it the dealer can fix it. gotta love workin with slimy hyd fluid....

is everyone sure there 3 point is working fine???l

alright.....put the union in to bypass the new valve.....three point works great....wonder what is going on with my new valve????

I have looked at that link and valve 100 times trying to get you an answer...I am stumped!

Explain how you set the relief valve.

i borrowed a pressure gauge from a local friend mechanic, plugged it into one of the two new ports, and pulled the lever to pressurize it. loosened the jam nut and turned the screw in until i reached around 2200. i let go of the handle every time i turned the screw and worked my way up to that point.

i think i will take the new valve apart in the next day or two....i must not be getting full flow through it....i was thinking the thing is pretty loud from the hissing of the oil through it....wonder if there is something restricting it......do you have any hiss from the oil normally traveling through your valve??

i mounted it down on top of the final drive inside the right wheel and made a linkage up by the three point, and still when on the seat could hear the oil hissing.

i have only hooked up one spool for now, the other is just a spare for more add-ons later

Your procedure for setting the PRV is correct...I just wanted to make sure.

alright...did some testing, surplus center tech couldn't do much to help.

when i put air to the "P" port it does not come out anywhere. i took the relief valve out, and the only air that can get to the "t" port must come through the relief valve. so i took the plug out of the power beyond port and i get full flow from "P" to the PB port. also when i do that i get normal valve operation through the spools, so i thought. i plugged the "T" port and hooked all up to tractor, but now my "exhausted oil" has no place to go, and i am not utilizing the relief valve.

So, i am thinking i need pressure to the "P" port, "pb" will go to return, and i'll have to tee the "T" port into the return........then i'll have my pressure relief working again, and my exhausted oil should go to return also.....

what a weird setup on this valve.......
