Sounds to me like you need to hold your own brand of tractor training course, or find a differnt one. Hearing this kind of stuff is the exact reason I don't want to buy used.....

The switch (as far as I know) is pulling up on the PTO knob before backing up. There is a workaround by using a jumper on the PTO selector at rear of machine. EVERYTHING transferred from old machine, front lift, blower, and even backhoe mounts! I got lucky there.

Also the rear PTO remains ON, this backup switch (again, lift pto switch) only applies to mid PTO driving a mower deck or snow blower or such.....

part of the new "RIO" system for these tractors is a sensor up on the front
of the front pto shaft that tells the ecu that the mid pto is operating the
front attachment, blower or broom. this overrides the need to lift the pto
switch while transitioning to reverse like will have to be done while mowing with
a mid mower deck.

Follow up to this. I finally got to install the front hitch and blower (but we still have not had snow this winter) and tested it out. Long story short, the dealer did not have the sensor adjusted correctly (1.8mm +/-1). It was more like 3mm and did not function. I readjusted and it works. The manual states that the ENGINE RPM should be < 1600 for it not to shut down. I have found that with mine, it will not shut down at all which is good for me. It's been to soggy to get out and run the machine proper. I will update if I see a change to this.
