Deere 790 vs. Kubota 3000 debate resolved.

On advice of posters who kindly responded to my inquiry I went to yet another tractor dealer to look at the NH TC30. When I parked directly in front of me was a Kubota L3130 with FEL. The FEL hid the gimmicky chrome and styling that had intially turned me off. It was kind of like looking at what you thought was a homely girl who puts on make up and a slinky dress. I was in love. Then the dealer rolled out a L3130 with a standard transmission and it was as quick as a Las Vegas wedding; deal done. (On this marriage analogy, I must say I agonized as long over my tractor buying as I did over getting married. After all, tractors usually last longer.)

I really liked the 790 but for a little less than $3000 more I felt like I was getting a lot more tractor. Like finding the right woman, I believe I can live with the L3130 for a long time.
