Deere 990

Im looking at this deere 990

John Deere 990 Diesel 40 HP Tractor - 2004
10 acres with 1.5 of "yard" but the fencing is reasonable and have alot of room
even up to the house. I think this tractor is probably bigger than i "need" but
i read they sip fuel so wth.


Im aware of the gear/hydro debate. My concerns are
Is 2100hrs too much? what kind of lifespan do these have?
is getting them worked on horribly expensive? i have a jd dealer nearby
Is the sitrex 60" a decent mowrr?
i also will need to do some light grading with a blace/box blade to fix up the
driveway and keep it nice.
I live in virginia and seldom get much snow; will a rear blade be and the 2wd be
able to handle scrapping 2-6" snows? driveway is 1500' long and mostly flat but has a 6*
at the end for 200'
Disregarding listed price what is a fair market value for the tractor and mower?

I personally wouldn't go more than about 5 for the tractor.

Never heard of that mower, but you can get a good used rfm for $500 off c-list.

And 2wd should do fine in light snow.

For the money he is asking, you could likely get a similar machine with 4wd and a loader with those hours. Just might not be a "Deere".
