Deere Extended Warranty...Would you purchase it?

I would get it. Seems JD is famous among the AG guys that buy JD equipment. They tend to help out a lot on repairs out of warranty, if the extended is bought. Exsmple, one guy on another forum lost sn IVT pump, repar cost was $17K, JD. picked up $10K of that even though his warranty expired a few months before that. With Tier 4, get it.

I would appreciate some input from other members on whether I should purchase Deere's extended warranty on my 5105M. I took dellivery last August and I must make a decision before the delivery date anniversary. Deere offers extended warranty for up to five years on my tractor. The cost is about $1500.
I just had my first service about four weeks ago and everything on the tractor is working great. I have about 150 hours on the tractor now. That will probably be my annual usage for the life of the tractor, but who knows what time will bring.
Should I purchase the extended warranty?

It really depends upon the details of the coverage - IMO. $300 a year won't hardly cover the maintenance. So, it's not that big an outlay. I bought the extended insurance on my JD110TLB and did not have to use it. I haven't bought the extended coverage on my 5075M.... yet.

My 5075M has been back to the local JD shop 2 times now for warranty repairs. I've got 168 hours on it now. One repair was fairly minor. The other was pretty major. Would have easily gone over $3,000 - if it would have been my "dime"!!

I plan to read through the insurance details with a fine tooth comb before I make my mind up.

It doesn't take much of a problem - with today's shop rates and the complexity of modern equipment - to burn through $1,500!!
