Are Deere models the same but different? eg 4105 is somewhat of a re-badged 3000 series 3520 judging by wheelbase and other specs.
The 3032E and 3038E could be a re-badged 2000 series 2320 and 2720 ?
Marketing to convince a customer to purchase a 4105 thinking he is getting a deal instead of a 3520 ?

I had a 4010. Thought a 4105 or 4110 or 4115 were similar. In today's naming nomenclature, my 4010 would be a 2019, e.g. a 2 series with a 18.5 hp engine. It'd probably rate a 2019F, since it's very much like a 1023E but with split brakes. The "E" designates how many upgrades there are on it. The 1025 is an "R", for instance.

Is there a newer model 4105? Maybe it isn't similar to the old 4110 or 4115.

No, No, No, and No. New models get new numbers. Is a 2305 over twice as good as a 1025R? A 4010 is a row crop tractor from the sixties, and a SCUT from the nineties.

Woo hoo! Something I have a wee bit of experience with.

When I was in the process of haggling over what JD tractor to consider the 4105 came out as a less expensive, yet with a more HP engine, than the most expensive 3000 series. This was all due to the 4105 not having most of the 'bells & whistles' of the top of the line 3000s. So I don't have cruise control or the ability to fit a 'factory' cab.

However, the 4105 is not technically included in JDs 4000 series... probably because it is a 'bare bones' rig.

Erm the 4105 is a **** of alot larger than the 4110... 4105 is a 4720 sized machine while the 4110 is like a 2320 size...

The R and E have nothing to do with upgrades.... R is the premium line and E is economy...

3E series is a cheaper 3020... 3032E using 2720 engine and 3038E using same engine as 3520

4105 is a cheaper 4000 series just like the 1023e is cheeper 1026r

As Murph said... It's confusing. So I've learned (via the good people here on TBN) to have TractorData.com as a favourite. All is revealed regarding the numbering system there. And there's pictures TOO!

4105 is not 4720 sized. Check the weight , wheel base and wheel track. Then check and see that the 4105 uses the smaller 300 series loader for the 3000 series tractors.

3000E chassis dimensions are smaller than the real 3000 series tractors. Closer to 2000 series dimensions.
