Deere MX7

I would like to see Deere come out with a 5r series with multiple range hydro transmission.

I don't have my ear on the "rail" enough to keep track of the latest developments. 5R series, huh? I'd sure like to see it!

I do realize the loader would cost more later but I really don't have a need for the loader with the 110 around. I actually went and looked at an NH T4.75 today which was pretty darn nice.
But it seems there's a lot of narrowing down I need to do first. I'd love a cab for brush hogging but just about every other task the cab wouldn't be much of a help. Way back when I bought my 3320 I took off a day and went to every brand local to me and tried them all. That really helped because it let me almost compare them head to head.

The 5083E(OS) at my local dealer is a 1 hr Deere corp demo but it has the 553 loader and frontier grapple bucket. I really want the H260 loader and HD bucket. They're asking $47k which I think is way too high compared to what I've seen on tractorhouse. On the other hand I had always planned to buy a mini excavator and figured I go with a Deere 35D or Hitachi equivalent so I could swap buckets with the 110. But now I think I'd rather have a 5 ton mini like the 50D or perhaps a Kubota offering. A larger utility tractor never really crossed my mind but I'm looking to get back into Brush mowing on the side so the larger utility would be useful too.

More towards the topic I'm sure I can sell the Bush Hog 3008 if I doesn't pan out on the 110. I really wish Deere had upped the HP for the 110 and not abandon the segment to Kubota.

We're covering alot of ground with your brush hog post!

I opted to go bigger with a 563 MSL on the 75M and real glad I did. Moving, clearing some old sheds, accumulated crap from some property we just acquired would have been alot more difficult with a 553 - IMO.

Have been renting both JD75-85D past 2 years for a month at a time so, am more inclined to see the 50D as a better option than the 35D. Can trailer with your D-Max.

Crazy how the price drops when you look at the identical Hitachi! No question what I'd do...

Yeah, IMO Deere **** the bed with the drop of the 110. When the weather changes (3 months..) I'm gonna crawl around the new M59 on the dealer's lot in Anchorage.

The Dmax and new trailer will tow the 50D and I too have noticed the price diff between the Deere and Hitachi machines.
You need to put your ear back to the rail, Kubota no longer makes the M59 but has turned it into the M62. I checked one out myself recently and while it is nice it just doesn't feel layed out right for my tastes. I can't stand the treadle design on the pedal and I just don't care for the fit an finish. It's also way over priced for what you get. But IMHO the Mini Ex's are in the same bout, I could buy a 75D for what the 50D would cost but they know you cant transport a machine that size so they got you.

My deere dealer keeps saying there's grumbling of a 110 replacement in the dealers circle. Fingers crossed!!!

That 75d is only a little over 17k, id go that way in a heartbeat if it was the same money as a 50d! Just buy a little bigger trailer if you have too!

No kidding..!! M62! I clipped past the dealer a couple times and everything is covered in a heavy layer of snow and hoar frost (lot's of cold fog in Anchorage). Could only see the top of the backhoe boom - figured it was a 59.

I'm not in the market for a TLB. Just curious how the Kubota measures up!

If Deere came out with a 65hp TLB and 3pt option - I could change my mind pretty fast! eHydro and say 9,000lbs. 12' hoe and 3,100lb loader.

Most 3/4 ton(diesel) pickups are over 24,000GVWR now, so, a 9k machine is in the towing capacity.

The JD4024T engine (66hp) in my 4720 is a little "coal roller"! I put rear wheel spacers and full weights hoping to improve traction (it did help) but, that engine would bark the tires on pavement, I think!

If Deere could get it to pass Tier IV, would be a nice drop-in for the 110TLB.

In the North East we can swing that kind of weight with a 1 ton like the Texans do. A 50D would be a good compromise.

The M59/62 is a little larger physically than the 110. The 110 is a little larger than the L47. If Kubota had given the M62 a factory cab I think they'd be selling like hot cakes. My dealer claimed that Deere abandon the 110 due to slumping sales but I'm not sure how a machine that received zero updates the entire production time would continue to sell well for them.
I'm actually surprised the 110 was more HP from introduction as its a lumbering beast at 41 hp to begin with for a machine that scales as the 110 does.

I'm making the 5 hr trip the pick up the Bush Hog Mid next week, so pics to follow.

Interested to see your pics, thanks!

Never been up close and personal with the M59. Sat in the seat of a L35 and the 45. The 35 seemed significantly smaller; the 45 was comparable. Then I read about the transmission problems and the ratio spread between the ranges, and decided I wanted nada to do with a 45.

Creeping up on 1,600 hrs. now, with the 110 and zero, zero problems beyond an annoying front driveline seep at the transaxle. (I think I caused that using aggressive, V-bar chains on the front wheels. Lot's of shaking, hopping and rough riding... Stopped dripping and stopped using front chains after seal replace/repair.)

Deere did go through 3 different engine iterations with the 110. 41hp, 4TNV84 and 43hp, 4TNV88 (2) models. No real differences, really.

It is a very, stout chunk of machinery. I am convinced that with belly pan, stabilizer guards, wheel spacers, hyd thumb option, HD front bucket with edge and 20" HD hoe bucket my 110 will tip the scales @ 8,000 with full fuel.

And, yes it lumbers... Especially compared to the "jackrabbit" 4720! Night and day - difference!

Well after a long wait and lots of snow delays the Bush Hog finally arrived yesterday afternoon. I can't say enough positive things about the dealer I purchased from 5 hrs away.
I haven't had a chance to hook it up yet but it sure is a well built beast!
