I believe your best pricing for a Woods BH90-X will come from rosseelsonline.com in Michigan. Good folks to work with-I bought my BH90-X from them and had it shipped to me in California and still saved close to two thousand dollars below a couple of other suppliers. The four point designed connection is not a PITA.

Rosseels is awesome. I'm heading down there tomorrow to look at some of their trailers. From what I've seen they are about $1000 less than a comparables. I'm just lucky enough to have them near by:thumbsup:

When I move my backhoe on I may be getting a 485 for my 4520 (not that I have it yet... in theory it'll be here by June... signed paperwork in Jan.!), or I may get a mini-ex.

With the 485 you can get the creep to reposition, and I'm fairly sure a hydraulic thumb (foot operated I think) is available as well.

If there's a factory hydro thumb for the 485 can you provide a link? I've not seen or heard of it an I was on JDparts yesterday.

And you can get the creep to repo on the 45/4720's now. Still doesn't explain how you can move the FEL or turn the wheel, but I guess it's a start:thumbsup:

John Deere said:
To assist in moving the tractor unit during trenching operations, a unique repositioning creeper drive was developed for the 4520 and 4720 Tractors when operating the 485 Backhoe. This drive system allows the operator to move the tractor forward or backward at a slow speed and adjust the engine speed when in the backhoe operating position.

Creep-to-reposition kit

The repositioning creeper drive control is located at the rear of the right fender console, just to the left of the operator when in the backhoe operating position. Controls include motion direction buttons and engine speed control buttons. The motion alarm sounds as soon as motion is initiated.

The operator must be seated in the backhoe operating position for the drive system to activate.

I asked about it when I ordered the 4520, and I thought I saw it somewhere else, either on here or a press release.

I know it isn't in the Attachments booklet, but there is a lot of missing info both in the literature and on the Deere site.

Just sold my Woods BH90x w/thumb. Wasn't too difficult to hook and unhook. Nice unit, but had no use for it. Hate to ask, but whats these units going for now?

Rosseels' sells the BH90X for $6200 with 24" bucket and no thumb. Not sure what the hydraulic thumb is worth. I would have loved to have purchased your BH90X but it was poor timing for me. I'll have to live with my 7-1/2 ft hoe for at least another year... maybe two.

Sure is, I really don't expect this to be a very popular option because there are very few people who know it exists and the people that do, well, there's not enough info on it to know if you should pay for it. I would love to see a nice video or at least a nice documentation, or someone here who has it, but all Deere has is those couple paragraphs. It is a cool feature at least on my 110 and would be a huge selling point for Deere if they market it correctly, but as of now, they are failing to do so.

I've seen the info for the mechanical/fixed thumb - but, nothing about a hydraulic thumb for the 485.

That would be a significant feature improvement for the JD lineup of CUT's!

Cinder, you've peaked my interest, How does the Wallenstein mount. I can't imagine any easier mount than the deere setup.

Matt

Heck you have at least 58 HP. You could get the gx920 extend-hoe for your 4720. Not even woods has that.

I was aware of the creep to reposition. But I looked again for the hydro thumb option and don't see it. Nothing in jd parts either.
