Sorry, maybe I misunderstood you.... I still maintain that vehicle aplication plays a larger role than HP though. The 6.0L in a Ford F-250 has a different EEC system on it than its nearly identical F-650 brother because of the clasification of the truck. International EEC is used on the 650 because that is their forte and it is essentially an International truck with a Ford body on it, Ford uses their system on the SD because thats what they do(light trucks)and must meet tighter reg's. They may not be too far off, but they are different spec'd because of different restrictions. Both are road vehicles.
Back to the point, are there any tractors curently being produced with light truck emissions systems on them? I truly dont know, but last time I looked they were much more primitive because the reg's hadnt gotten to them yet. At least not to the point that an "on road" vehicle is.
Like I said, I do understand that JD and the others have restrictions to follow and they must comply to continue selling their tractors, Caterpillar even supplied the HUEI injector design for the 7.3L PS Ford used. My point was that it would take allot more than just dropping a combine engine into a truck body to market a JD truck.... It wouldnt be cost effective for JD to try. This is the same reason International doesnt make light trucks anymore, though some of their engine programs can be easily modified to fit other vehicles...
