Price Check Deere Pricing

Cowboydoc,
Actually I am having dinner this week with the local Deere salesman who I deal with. We have gotten pretty friendly over the years. I will question him about incentives, allocations, quotas and discounting. He's a pretty straight shooter and will probably share the inside story on how his dealership works. I have always felt that he was decent with me on pricing, has never charged me a delivery or pick up fee for service and has thrown in a lot of extras on deals at no charge even after we agreed on a basic configuration and price. However, he's gotta be making money on every deal to stay in business.

One more data point: my dealer discounted the 4120 ehydro, r4s I am taking delivery on this week 24%. Implements between 12 and 16%.

How do you find out what retail is on the attachments, such as balers? When I looked at the site I didn't see any pricing on balers.

They have the pricing for about everything. Go to ag section and then on the left hand side hit Build and Price option.

You might have to temporarily disable your popup blocker if you have one. You do this by clicking Tools/Pop up Blocker/ Turn off. Or some require holding down the "Ctrl" Key when you click on build and price...Kyle

The link to Mid-Lawn was posted on another thread, and has some Deere prices to use to compare with prices you might find in your area. The URL is http://www.midlawns.com/mall/lobby.html

BTW, the $xxx below invoice doesn't mean a lot these days, as there are multiple types of invoices. I saw the same truck you mentioned earlier at the Ford dealer I bought my F150 from that had that truck with the price of around $40,000. It is a really, really nice truck. I loved the detailing that truck had in the stitching on the leather seats. It was very nice.

No offense Keith but I highly doubt that you saw a King Ranch F-350 DRW 4x4 crewcab 6.0 litre diesel for $40,000. That is less than even the A plan on these trucks. If so please prove me wrong and post the dealer. I know alot of guys that would love to get that kind of a deal on one of these trucks.

I said around $40K. It was at Boyd County Ford in Eastern Kentucky. The sticker I looked at had it in the low $40Ks, I don't recall the exact amount as I was just looking around the lot while having my truck serviced. Had I known I was going to be taken to task on the complete price and someone imply I was lying I would have better committed it to memory. The MSRP, which was also posted on the same sticker, was for about $49,990, again that is not exact, but the MSRP was within a few dollars of $50K. I thought posting the dealer's price along with the MSRP on the sticker was pretty good marketing during this sale that they had going on at the time.

Why is the price hard to believe? It is about the same as you said you paid for your truck.

BTW, I did some research on invoice prices, as there ws some discussion of them earlier in this thread, especially pertaining to dealers sell slightly above or below invoice. Invoice prices include an amount that is known as "holdover", which is a hidden amount that the manufacturers give back to dealers. This "holdover" is what allows the dealers to sell at or below invoice, as they have that amount reserved as their cut on the sale of the vehicle. This enables dealers to have these $49 over/under invoice sales on a regular basis.
