Quick Hitches Delta Hook quick hitch

Looks interesting. I know that some others have talked about adapting skidsteer attachment plates to their tractors. I didn't notice any prices however. And you'd need the receiver plate for each attachment.

Joe,

I saw one similar to that at Empire Farm Days. They look like they'd be great, but as Gary says, you have to buy the attachment plate for each attachment.

A few weeks ago someone on TBN said they had just installed a Pat's Easy Change System. I couldn't find the post tonight, but I ordered one at that time and had it in a few days. It was less than $200 including shipping and really makes the job of changing 3PH attachments much easier. I still have to climb off to hook up the top link and PTO shaft, but that's about it. You'll find the info at Greenwell Mfg. It works for me!

I just found the post at: Pat's Easy Change

We have one member (MarkC) that has used the Freedom hitch extensively. He has really put them through the ropes for several years and seems to really like them. If they wasn't so awful expensive I would have a few. Bubbco also has a nice looking set. Another member JimMc has a QH in development . BTW, Jim said that he may have his T&T sets ready before Christmas.

I don't use the Delta Hook, but I'm the one who wrote about Pat's Easy Change.

One thing that attracted me to the Pat's Easy Change is the fact that I can use it with implements that do not work with a quick hitch. I have 2 implements that will not work with standard quick hitches, and I doubt that either will work with the Delta Hook.

First is a Post Hole Digger, by its very design, it cannot work with the Delta Hook because the top link is not used on a PHD as the top of the PHD must be attached to the tractor itself.

Second, and this is just my observation, but the fixed dimentions of the Delta Hook MIGHT not allow it to work with implements that do not have a standard "A-Frame" and, unfortunately there are lots of those out there, and many are still in production. I have a Befco finish mower, I would not get rid of it, but it does not have a standard sized "A-Frame" and will not work with any of the Quick Hitch systems I found other than Pat's Easy Change. Looking at the Delta Hook, it seems like it has a plate that connects to the implement's "A-Frame" and it does not appear to adjust in either width or height, consequently it MIGHT be limited to only standardized implements.

All that said, IF I was buying a tractor and implements, I would certainly consider this system. There are a few others out there that are nearly identical, basically using a male/female coupling system. All seem sound, and all probably work well. For me, I've been using a PHD lately and the only think that works with it, my rear blades and my mower deck is the Pat's Easy Change . . . it is not perfect, but it is the best thing I could find that would work with everything I use, and it is economical enough to mount the system on each tractor.

I also have the Pat's Easy Change System and think it's pretty good. As Bob said you still have to work the top link, but that's never been a problem for me. The lower links are where the "fun" is.

There have been posts detailing how the Pat's system doesn't give full contact with the lower pins if you have implements with slightly different pin spacing. And in my opinion that could be an issue in some cases. I have a JD4100 and don't think I'll ever wear out a lower pin due to not having full contact. If your tractor has 150HP, and you use a lot of implements such as plows and disks, you may wish to take a different approach.

GaryM, I use the Pat's with different width implements and have not noticed any unusual wear on the lower pins, but I suppose after YEARS of use, I might have to replace a pin on something? But I also will have saved so many hours of futzing with implement connections that the POSSIBLE cost of a future pin replacement is well worth the time saved by using the Pat's Easy Change system. Add that time savings to the fact that my family will hear far less swearing and my knuckles will not be nearly as bloody, and IF there is an issue with pins wearing out, then it is something that I recognize as a possible flaw in design, but only because I am too lazy to adjust the Pat's Easy Change when I switch implements, and the system is adjustable, so it would be my fault if a pin wore out.

The system may not be perfect, but I am sold on it for what I need because it satisfies all my requirements.

#1, it is fast
#2, it is easy
#3, it works with EVERY implement I own, and every one I share with my neighbor
#4, it is durable (SO FAR)

Does it interfere with telescoping lower arms? It looked to me like if I wanted to put Pat's on my TC45 with the "deluxe" lower arms that the telscoping function would be eliminated.

mikim. . . good question, I don't have that answer because I don't have the sliding arm extentions on my TC24D like on your tractor. However on my Kubota B2910 the Pat's system does not pose a problem because the sliding part is set far enough back from the ball eyes.

Pat's system attaches to the ball eyes of the lower links, most of the Pat's system extends to the rear and projects out past the end of the lower links, but probably 2" inches, maybe a bit more, extends back toward the tractor so it can get a firm clamp on the lower link arms. If the sliding part of your lower arms are set back 3" or more from the ball eyes then I would say you would have absolutely no conflict.

Bob mentioned the "fixed width" of the delta hook system. If you view this system on Rankin's site, it sure looks like the implement device is "width adjustable:
http://www.rankineqco.com/ Search on their site for quick hitches.
I do have a question about Pat's system: If the implement is sitting not quite level to the tractor 3pth arms, will it engage both sides when raising the arms, or do you have to adjust the height of the adjustable arm?
Thanks to everybody for their input on this.
