Just chippers now, but Jim Pyke told me it wouldn't be long because there redesigning the carbides to cut better he said I bought the last of the older carbides he had for the Rayco. All the quadco teeth are the same size for fae bobcat asv heads just the holders are different.

I have 10 of the Quadco chippers in the center of my drum, Man what a difference. Just wandering, will the carbides work in the same adapters/holders as the chipper teeth on a FAE head ?? Or are they different as well ?

Yea, they work on the same holders.

Thanks, That's good to know. Be glad when they get their carbides right.

I thought the old carbides worked great, but Jim said they think they could make them cut alot better guess we'll see.

Eric, your BH74 should be OK on there. If want a 2 speed drive save your bucks and just buy a 2 speed motor. Rexroth have them with the same bolt pattern and spline shaft as you already have. Only 4 hoses and 4 bolts to play with to do the change over. Piece o cake.

There is a lot if lexan included in bobcat forestry package and that crap ain't cheap. The Forestry door on the bobcat is 3/4 thick lexan the door alone is like 1,500 well worth it. From wat I've seen the forestry package on the bobcat seals up the engine bay pretty tight. What 6k if it's protecting a 85k machine an you? O an a Cimaf would be sweet on the 870.

The debris kit can be ordered separately from the forestry kitand though it's flimsy, I recommend it. I think it's about $700-800 and will help keep the engine compartment clean. You still have a lot of areas to seal up, though.
The door is only required for the Bobcat cutter to operate. They also sell a 1/2" lexan door which is what I use. The side windows which are lexan in the kit are on the outside of the cage so they will get scratched up in tight brush. I don't see the need for lexan on the sides just for running a mulcher.

The kit also comes with a level 2 FOPS which would be nice to have if you are taking down large trees or mulching high up.

Eric, I don't know how you would get on with building your own forestry protection so far as liabilities are concerned. In Aust all ROPS/FOPS must be stamped by the manufacturer with a serial number and ISO tag. BS I know but that's the world we now live in. ;)
