Since I made the double dog dare, I will start, the following pics show my 2410 and loader and hood relationship. J

The previous pic shows the hood held full open, notice it is close but there is room and that the cross bar is lower than the dented location on Vipers unit. Let's explore the next pic /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. J

In the previous pic I showed that there was a fist clearence between the cross bar and the hood when the hood is closed. Ok, what's next you may ask? J

Ok then, in the previous pic I show my 'bota lifted nearly 10 inches from the ground using the FEL. Notice there is nothing---nothing remotely close to striking the hood and there is nothing flexing as has been alluded to as "anything is possible". Onward and upward fellow tractor dudes. J

In the previous pic I use a wax bottle for scale demontrating that the tractor is off the ground, note the frame is NOT flexed. Note in the attached pic that now the loader is lifted upward and that again there IS NO clearence issue with the hood or anything else. Now, anyone with a picture that can show their tractor with the cross brace, hood guard, bucket striking the hood in NORMAL use while pinned or the loader frame flexed so greviously as that the hood would be struck by ANY part of the loader I would be glad to see it. Hmm first you say it was the crossbar and now you say it couldn't be the crossbar. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Well here's some more evidence of what most likely happened.

Look at the attached pic of my dented hood in the exact same location. I did it while attempting to take my loader off the first time without referring to the manual. If the loader legs are not down and locked properly, the cross bar rotates forward as you lift the front end, and before you realize what's happening, makes a nice pair of dimples when it hits your hood.

I can assure you I was highly PO'd at myself for denting my new tractor with less than 5 hours on it, but had to chalk it up to "operator error"

Look closely just above the "A" in KUBOTA in the picture for a familiar looking dent. There is a matching dent on the other side of the hood.

Thanks
Bill

Looks like the same dents. But viper said it did NOT happen while mounting or dismounting the loader......But personally I don't know how else it could have happened.

"Hmm first you say it was the crossbar and now you say it couldn't be the crossbar. "

Nope, not what I said, what I said was that in removing the loader if you forget to put the kick stands down and then raise the loader off the frame it will pop up and then fall into nearly the exact place those dents are located and as I also said this very nearly happened to me but I was able to grab it since I stand beside the tractor and operate the loader when removing it. It took all my strength and I hurt my back keeping it from crushing into the hood. This is like the OJ trial /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. J
