Boy do I feel stupid.

Was putting the front loader back on after several months (b7500, 302 fel). I built a dolly. Got it off center and when putting the front loader on, it dropped off the dolly and petty well dented up the bonnet. New bonnet is 250 bucks with decals. Is taking this to a body shop and having the dents pounded out, repainted and buying new decals. Is this doable, or should I just pony up the 250 bucks for the new part and be done with it? (I am having trouble explaining to the boss why I need 250 bucks for a dent, but hey, its my baby, you all know how it is. Its all may fault for practicing stupid tractor tricks, but I'm learning as I go.

Rhman,
You already have the hood dented, practice putting the loader for a little while. May save you from denting a new hood. After you have it down pat put the new one on.
I ordered my loader, brought it home and put it on myself. When I was putting the loader on the frame it almost got the hood. So I have an idea where you're coming from.

If you can buy a new bonnet for 250 it would most likely be cheaper than the body shop repair.

You should feel that way..until you back into your better {2001 Buick /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif} half car..try and explain or blame that one on the dog. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Thomas,
You seem to have your fair share of these little UH, O's.
Rakes and garden hoses, and now tractor and buick.
You don't suppose it could be the coffee do you. You may have to cut your cafine intake down to only 4 or 5 pots a day. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif Now I know that this would be a terrible thing to have to do, but if you consider all the time spent either repairing things or explaining to the better half, think of all the extra seat time you could get in /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

SIR,
if you are handy with tools, you might try bumping it out yourself.
it does not have to be perfect, you can always use some body
filler in the low spots. then sand it down flush, prime, and
paint it. if you get a good paint job, only you will know it was
damaged.

I saw an add on one of those really popular /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif cable channels - the ones that sell everything for $19.99 - for a device that will remove dents from cars (and, therotically, tractors). It looked like two suction cups connected together by a metal bar. Through the middle of the metal bar was a hole for a threaded bolt that was attached to another suction cup. You attach the device over the top of the dent, with the middle suction cup in the middle of the dent. Then you slowly screw the threaded bolt out, and voila!, the dent pops out! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Well gee, it worked on T.V. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif! And it only cost $19.99.
As funny as it sounds, though, I wonder if there might be some truth to it?

Nope..coffee has nothing to do w/it. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gifNow there another {my better half} to consider for I lived a lone better than a decade..noise level, extra coffee cup, dirty hands, spending time together,worries,boo-boos,bathroom,remembering where she park and left her stuff, projects etc..Speaking of projects my better half putting in about 1,200 sq ft flower garden..and I get to help /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif..oh my goodness..I'm I becoming a house mouse. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
