I'm a hardass when it comes to business. I do tend to expect contracts to be binding. But that said-- 3 hours does not non refundable make. If he had slept on it, I MIGHT keep the deposit, but if the ink hasn't completely dried, it is silly and petty to keep the deposit.

and spending this much time justifying it to skeptical strangers??? i'd say you've got other issues.

Where is the written contract? You both blew it.

Now your consulting a lawyer for what? How much is that costing. Sorry, it was bad from the get go. No guidance or written documents provided.

Does time really matter without documentation? Would three minutes had made a difference in your position?
