Tires Desperately Need 5x12 Deep Lug Tire for Yanmar

I have a 2000BD with a rim that has a rusted spot around the valve stem. I was thinking of having some rims made by Hey Wheel and using a more standard size tire. After reading the posts here and looking at web sites, I'm a little confused. I read you can go up and down a bit in width. Does the difference between the rice tires and regular Ag tires matter for the front to back(radius) ratio?, i.e. if I get Ag tread for the front, could I leave the Rice tires on the back without damage? Also, am I mistaken that I need to put on a more standard size? When looking at tires, I don't see the R1 tread for my size much.

My rims should last quite a while so I'll probably get the ROPS first, this thread just got me to go ahead and ask. If this doesn't make sense, I'm working on a telepone switch at 11:30 p.m. and have had like 300 cups of coffee.

Thanks
Jerry

Thanks for all your replys. The reason I wanted to stay with the rice tire is because of what I use this tractor for. This tiny tractor actually does some work in the field on a real farm. We're on very flat heavy clay land (southern Manitoba). So when we get too much rain and the standing water is damaging the crops sometimes a tractor tire rut through the water and down the drains that lead to the ditches is enough to get the water moving. But it looks like I'll have to settle for the regular Firestone ag tread. I've never even been close to stuck till now so it should be ok with those tires.

In our local paper today, I see a guy is advertising 'deep lug' farm trasctor tires from a yanmar, 5-12 and 8.3x22 .. almost new.. 14 hrs use.. etc.

I'll pm you with the phone number. ( this is in florida by the way.. )

Does anybody have a source for a 4.00x10 tire? I've totally, absolutly struck out. I'm very despirate as I've actually blown one of the tires, so it must be replaced. Currently, I have some 18x8.5-10 semi-turf friendly tires on order. I'm doubtful I can get them to fit (even with a new rim) because they are twice the original tire width! I can't imagine parking the tractor just because I can't find a replacement tire! Because of the front tire problems, I'm starting to think that maybe I should look into replacing my 7x14 rear rice tires before they too are unavailable.

I see 6.50 x 10 (highway tread) in an old towing guide published by Chrysler. Likely a tent-trailer tire.

Maybe the world of small boat trailers and tent trailers would be a place to find something to fit your existing rims - if highway tread will serve. Is your tractor 4wd, where rolling diameter is critical?

Yea, I need to maintain the 18" diameter and I'm looking for a bar tread.
