I have what I believe is a non-adjustable detent from a Troy-Bilt 27T logsplitter. The detent wasn't working - so I opened it up - thinking I might be able to adjust it. When I removed the cap I discovered a piece or O-ring - I am hoping this was the issue. However - I am not exactly sure how the detent sleeve and balls go back together. Any ideas on how to get this back together are welcome. It seems the four small balls go in first and then the spring loaded big ball some how gets pushed inside the four smaller balls when when the detent sleeve is pushed on? Ok - you can see I am lost here....

What is the brand name of the valve?

It is not the recalled valve - although it is on the same model splitter as the recalled Energy valve. The only marking is something between the two work ports that looks like a "CJ" or maybe a "JD". I am guessing it is not a "John Deere" and more likely that manufacturer every one talks about called "Chinese Junk"?

I was able to load the big ball spring with a 4mm socket and an "F" clamp - but something is still wrong.

1. Not sure which end of the detent sleeve goes over the balls

2. can't figure out what size O-Ring it takes. appears to be ID 13/16 - od 1 1/16 but the x-section is bigger than 1/8 but smaller than 3/16 ! It seems the 1/8 is not working as hydraulic fluid is leaking out of the detent cover.
