I ended up selling both to a engine shop. I think he is going to convert them to an industrial application.

I only made a few hundred on each engine. I'm sure I could have made more if I would have held onto them for a while. But a bird in the hand.....

Divide the few hundred dollars by how many hours you had in the venture and see if it comes out to more than $7.50 an hour.

Hours??? I had maybe 3 hours tops. I shipped engines directly to him - never saw or touched them.

I guess you might make $125/hour at your day job, but I sure don't

No, no. What I was getting at is if you only put a few hours into it, anything you got over $7.50 per hour of your time beats flipping burgers (most places).

I hardly think many 8V92's found their way into busses and motor homes.

From the article...

"In the 1980s and early 1990s, the Series 92 was used as a major bus engine in North America. It was also available for several other applications: Trucks, buses, motor homes, construction, fire trucks/apparatus, industrial equipment, several military vehicles, and marine applications."

"Series 92" was built in 'V' configurations and 6,8,12 and 16 cylinder versions. 92 cu. in. per cylinder. Screamin' Demons were also built in 53 and 71 series V and inline.

Not many busses or motor homes had the 8V92TA's 400+ HP in the relevant timeframe.

Ah, so 92 series were used, but not many of the 8 cylinder versions.
