Dewalt recruits engineers straight from the college that I went to. There is no commonality between the Black and Decker and Dewalt products. Hold them side by side... thats a great way to tell.
I've had the combo kit for about 5 years. I've replaced 1 battery so far. They last much longer if you properly charge and discharge them.
One thing I always wondered, why is there not a company that makes generic batteries? There certianly is enough market for them.
