Dave the good news is that you got it started even at -20 C. without any other engine warming aids (block heater/oil pan heater). As Chip has said many times the direct injection certainly appears to help in starting, in our climate especially.

I was curious what kind of draw you might have on the battery if you connect up both the intake heater and the glow plugs? Will it be too hard on a (cold) battery? If one only is preferred it appears from your experience that the glowplugs might be the one to keep hooked up.

Until I get to look at it next year I will probably use the glow plugs. Video's are always fun. A couple of snow removal videos narrated by my wife. Commentary that should give a bit of a chuckle. With the loader, plow not quite set yet.
