The 17LA would extend the length (the distance of the loader bucket from the tractor) unnecessarily. This could be an advantage, in that it would give you more reach with the loader, or a disadvantage in maneuverability and tendency to tip forward with a heavy load. Probably not a big deal one way or the other.

I really don't know.
I think it is a sensitrak model however. I won't pick it up until weds this week.
What else do I need to look out for on this thing?
Is the D the same as DA?

Essentially the same thing (indicates hydraulic transmisison), different year's model.
