Hello all. First post for me. I just bought a John Deere 2440 out of wisconsin. Im from central Ohio and I have seen them as high as 13,000. I got it for 9000 and it is my first tractor. I just got a bit of land and plan to raise a small herd of steers. So I am asking all of you knowledgeable tractor owners out there if I made a good choice and if the deal was good. It is the old style and has 2590 hrs. on it and a 148 loader.

Those are really low hours for the age of tractor. 60 pto hp. 148 loader was used on lots of tractors and a good loader. I think you did well.

If it is in good shape that is a fair price and a good combination to have in my opinion. Let us know how it works out after you have had a chance to use it more.
